Deep in rural Lincolnshire, Farrlacey Mill is owned and run by Alpaca enthusiasts, Elaine and Les Reetham.

For some time before buying the Mill, Elaine had had an interest in keeping alpacas, and in the spring of 2007 the decision was made to take this interest further. So four alpaca girls were bought – Sabrina, Cleo, Kay, and Belinda. They soon arrived at the farm near Great Carlton, near to Louth.

A month later Belinda gave birth to Maggie May, a beautiful rose grey female cria, and in August Sabrina gave birth to a lovely white make cria called Schubert. From here the Farrlacey family has just grown and grown!

Elaine has been knitting up a storm for over thirty years, and so appreciates the unique qualities of alpaca fibres. From this she became enthused in the art of processing the alpaca fleeces to produce her own alpaca wool and make her own alpaca scarves, hats, bags and clothes.

Between Elaine and Les (a real life proper farmer) it has been a natural progression to making sure the Farrlacey family have a happy life and continue to produce their luscious fleeces. Both oversee production in the Mill to ensure all products are made to the lovingly high standards the wool deserves!
